The Dairy Queen Spellbound Series is a Halloween-themed collection coming to participating U.S. Dairy Queen locations on September 28, 2026. The limited-time lineup includes a new OREO Blizzard, a sparkling drink, a spicy sauce, and collectible Mystery Blizzard Buddies.
If you enjoy seasonal food releases, the Spellbound Series stands out because it mixes sweet, spicy, and collectible items instead of focusing on just one Halloween treat.
What Is the Dairy Queen Spellbound Series?
The Dairy Queen Spellbound Series is a limited-time Halloween collection built around a fun magic-and-mystery theme. It is scheduled to be available from September 28 through November 1, 2026, at participating U.S. locations.
The collection includes four main items: the Enchanted OREO Blizzard Treat, Bubble Brew DQ Sparkler, Ghost Pepper Sauce, and DQ Mystery Blizzard Buddies.
Each item has a slightly different theme, so the series is not limited to desserts.

What Is the Enchanted OREO Blizzard?
The Enchanted OREO Blizzard combines OREO cookie pieces with a sweet ube-flavored base and Dairy Queen’s soft serve, finished with a purple shimmer.
Ube is a purple yam known for its naturally sweet flavor and is commonly used in desserts. Its purple color also fits naturally with the Halloween theme.
For anyone familiar with the classic OREO Blizzard, this version has a noticeably different flavor because of the ube addition. The purple appearance gives it an extra seasonal touch without changing the familiar OREO element completely.
What Is the Bubble Brew DQ Sparkler?
The Bubble Brew DQ Sparkler is a fizzy cold drink made with blood orange and lemonade flavors, sparkling water, ice, and cold foam.
One interesting part of the drink is what happens when it is stirred. Dairy Queen says stirring it creates more bubbles and foam, giving the drink a more playful presentation.
The citrus combination makes this item quite different from the richer, dessert-focused Blizzard. It is designed to fit the Halloween collection while still being a refreshing drink option.
What Is the Ghost Pepper Sauce?
The Ghost Pepper Sauce brings some heat to the Spellbound Series. It is described as a smoky dipping sauce made with ghost pepper and is suggested with Dairy Queen’s four-piece Chicken Strip Basket.
This is one of the more unusual parts of the collection because most Halloween seasonal releases tend to focus heavily on sweets. The sauce gives the Spellbound lineup a savory and spicy option.
Anyone who is sensitive to spicy foods may want to keep the ghost pepper ingredient in mind before ordering it.
What Are DQ Mystery Blizzard Buddies?
The DQ Mystery Blizzard Buddies are small plush keychains that come in mystery packaging. That means you will not know which character you have until you open the package.
There are five designs: Blizabeth, Flip, Blenda, Brrrnie, and the rare Goldie.
The collectible aspect adds another layer to the Spellbound Series. According to Dairy Queen, a Mystery Blizzard Buddy can be added for $4 with a purchase at participating locations, while supplies last.
Goldie is the rare golden character and is connected to a special promotional reward, subject to the official promotion rules.
When Does the Dairy Queen Spellbound Series Start?
The Dairy Queen Spellbound Series starts on September 28, 2026, and is expected to run through November 1, 2026 at participating U.S. locations.
Because these are seasonal items, availability can vary by restaurant. The Mystery Blizzard Buddies are also available only while supplies last, so individual stores may run out before the official end date.
