What Is the Costco Mikasa Tivoli Holiday Dinnerware Set?
The Mikasa Tivoli Holiday Dinnerware Set is a seasonal dinnerware collection available through Costco. It features a white background decorated with green foliage and red berry details, creating a traditional holiday appearance without making the design too complicated.
Unlike heavily decorated Christmas dishes, its botanical pattern offers a relatively balanced look. The colorful details add interest while leaving enough white space to keep the plates looking clean and elegant.
The collection is designed for four people, making it suitable for smaller households, couples, or families who regularly host a few guests.
What Comes Inside the 12-Piece Dinnerware Set?
One important thing to check before choosing any dinnerware collection is the number and type of pieces included.
According to Costco’s product description, the Mikasa Tivoli collection contains:
- 4 dinner plates: Each measures 11 inches and provides space for main courses.
- 4 salad plates: These measure 9 inches and work well for salads, appetizers, desserts, and smaller servings.
- 4 all-purpose bowls: Each measures 6 inches and has an 18-fluid-ounce capacity, making them useful for soup, cereal, and side dishes.
Together, these 12 pieces provide a basic coordinated place setting for four people.
However, this is not a complete entertaining collection with mugs, serving platters, or extra bowls. Households that regularly host larger gatherings may need additional dinnerware.

What Material Is the Mikasa Tivoli Dinnerware Made From?
The collection is made from bone china, a material commonly used for refined household dinnerware.
Bone china is known for its relatively lightweight feel and smooth appearance. It can provide an elegant dining experience without the heavier feel associated with some other types of ceramic tableware.
Costco describes the Mikasa Tivoli pieces as chip-resistant. This is useful for households that want attractive dishes for repeated use, although chip-resistant does not mean unbreakable.
Careful handling is still important. Avoid dropping plates, knocking them against hard surfaces, or stacking them carelessly inside crowded cabinets.
Is the Costco Mikasa Tivoli Dinnerware Dishwasher and Microwave Safe?
Yes. Costco lists the entire collection as dishwasher-safe and microwave-safe.
This is particularly helpful after holiday meals, when cleaning several dishes can become an unpleasant task. Being able to place the dinnerware in the dishwasher makes everyday maintenance more convenient.
Microwave compatibility is another useful feature. You can reheat suitable portions without automatically transferring food to another dish.
Nevertheless, follow the manufacturer’s care instructions and avoid exposing the dishes to sudden temperature changes. Always handle heated dishes carefully.
How Does the Design Fit Into Holiday Table Settings?
The main attraction of this collection is its traditional red-and-green botanical pattern.
Green leaves and red berry details create a seasonal appearance that works naturally with Christmas decorations. The white background also makes the pattern easier to coordinate with different table accessories.
For a simple holiday table, consider pairing the plates with:
- Neutral tablecloths or white placemats.
- Red or green napkins.
- Gold or silver cutlery.
- Plain glass drinkware.
- Natural greenery or small seasonal centerpieces.
You do not need an elaborate table arrangement to make the dinnerware look attractive. A few coordinated accessories can create a welcoming setting.
The design can also work beyond Christmas. Neutral linens and earth-toned decorations can help give the collection a softer winter appearance.
How Much Does the Mikasa Tivoli Holiday Dinnerware Set Cost?
The Costco listing and recent coverage from Parade have reported a price of approximately $74.99 for the 12-piece collection.
However, prices can change depending on location, availability, and Costco’s current listing. It is best to check the product page for the latest price before making a decision.
The reported price is worth considering alongside the material, number of pieces, and everyday convenience rather than judging the collection by appearance alone.
Is This Dinnerware Set Suitable for Everyday Use?
It can be. Although the design is clearly inspired by the holiday season, the microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe features make the collection practical for regular meals.
It may suit people who enjoy using decorative dinnerware rather than keeping special dishes stored away throughout the year.
However, the four-person capacity is an important consideration. Larger families may find the set too limited unless they purchase additional pieces or combine it with plain white dinnerware.
